Everpresent Logo

When you have enterprise software that monitors your entire computer system for your company with a million eyes wherever you go and reports back so you can always see what is going on—it's kind of like you are ever present. That was this software app does. The word “ever” is reflected in the infinity symbol (which also looks like two eyes) and of course is present inside of the “P.”

Emonlade Logo

This logo is for a web development framework and tools system for a friend of mine. It is an open sourced program that can be built upon, hence the multiple components coming together to form an “e.”   You can find out more at emonlade.net

Perfect Fit Logo

This logo was created for a special needs class that is offered at Plainfield Christian Church in Indiana. The interconnecting polygon supports the name "perfect fit" with another shape that contains the icon of a happy child. The mark is intended to be happy and inviting to both parents and children alike. The color scheme was directed to match the treehouse ministries I had done previously, seeing it is in the same area of the church.

SMARTCOAST IDENTITY

Robotics, software, hardware, and water are the essence of this company. Smartcoast is an industrial robot and equipment company located along the shores of Lake Michigan that provides smart solutions for automated robotic and programing needs. Their mark needed to be fluid but also mechanical to communicate the core of their products and services—waves are hinted at on each side as they flow through a wired "s", all framed in a hex bolt shape.

TREEHOUSE MINISTRIES LOGO

A tree, a heart, a house… elements brought together in a fun way to give an inviting feeling about a children's ministry ministry. I have always loved well done children's book illustrations done in cut paper, that is why the logo's shape is slightly imperfect to reflect this technique. Cut paper does such a great job of communicating a child's playful simplicity—while the clean modern font compliments the mark with a feeling of stability. My favorite designer Paul Rand used cut paper to illustrate the book Sparkle and Spin (1957) which is still in print, like this book I hope that this logo can stand the test of time.

SOUTHERN CROSS AVIARY LOGO

Two friends of mine started a business breeding small exotic birds from Australia. One of their main breeds, lady gouldian finches, are very colorful and visually interesting. They named their business Southern Cross Aviary which the southern cross is a constellation found in the Australian flag. Using geometric shapes and bright and dark colors, I was able merge both images in a cohesive manner.

SWELL DEVELOPMENT LOGO

The above logo is for a software and web development company named Swell. The word "swell" itself has multiple definitions and its meanings can be applied in many directions. This logo was created to show progress in development through a bar chart that forms a wave—bringing the natural and manmade together in an icon.

NORTHERN KNITTING logo

This logo is for an Etsy shop owner who does custom knitting from the northern state of Michigan.

crossfire logo

This logo is for a junior high youth group's hang out area that is beach themed. I wanted to give a nod to the beach culture without being too heavy handed. The subtle worn look gives the mark a look like it has been aged by the beach or burned unto its background speaking to fire in “crossfire”.

Impact logo

This logo is for a high school youth group that meets in an area that is beach themed. As you can see the logo is strong enough to be weathered and cropped and still be recognizable. My intent was to make this logo durable in order to weather any trending style storm for years to come.

THE UNFOLDING STORY

This logo/theme was designed for a building proposal for a church. That being said, the proposal was smartly positioned to its congregation as part of an ongoing story rather than just another stale proposal. The logo represents a growing structure as well as resembling a unfolding book.

TechSlinger Logo

The logo above is for a new company named TechSlinger that I was privileged enough to work on with my friends at The Image Shoppe. The TechSling is an innovative shoulder holster that lets you work hands-free with immediate access to your tablet and smart phone with extra storage to boot. The name “TechSlinger” lent itself to a silhouetted figure posed ready to draw upon the resources held in the holster. The sharp technical lettering was chosen to compliment the retro shape of figure with the fedora. Cyan was chosen to be the brand's highlight color.

LUDWIG FAMILY DENTISTRY LOGO

The challenge: create a dentist word-mark with a family-friendly, clean, and professional character—minus any icons of anything dental. I was pleasantly surprised by such contraints, not to mention such refreshing restraint from a client. I feel this word-mark is a unique crafted san-serif font that brings a sensitive and personal touch to the viewer—similar to what one would hope to have in their dentist.

TASTE OF MI LOGO

This logo is for a group of food blog authors and readers that were attending a food tour event of Michigan. The mark is a playful use of the mitt shape of the state to tie it into the food theme.

MARVELOUS LIGHT LOGO

This Marvelous Light logo is for a youth group study on 1Peter 2:9 which states “…that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light…” I wanted to stay away from something too literal by using a hand-drawn look. This mark that was applied to t-shirts that were distributed to the entire youth group.

SKINNY OAKS LOGO

When you are working to overlap high-end fabric technology with natural local material and craftsmanship you are creating a good juxtaposition of two qualities. Skinny Oaks is just that type of clothing company. This logo reflects this happy juxtaposition in the use of a clean modern font in contrast of a rough organic mark to create a complementary and harmonious image.

242 LOGO

This logo was created for a passionate and unique student led worship service. It represents Acts 2:42: "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

The logo was used for stencils that were applied by students to shirts to promote the group wherever they went in public. This simple number of 242 was intended to get people people's curiosity piqued leading to inquiry and conversation.

THE GATHERING LOGO

This is a logo for a convention for youth ministers. The group already had an idea of what direction they wanted the logo to go. They wanted a simple modern mark that could be applied on many forms of media and still be very recognizable.

RED SEPTEMBER FILMS

Being a unique name created by the owner, Red September Films was in search of a simplified but memorable logo. With September being the 9th month of the year the "9" mark is a small visual riddle, but becomes apparent when the word-mark appears to its right. The universal "play" icon communicates not only motion pictures but multimedia in general, making this logo very versatile.

DARIUS MATHIS PERSONAL LOGO

This is a simple and personal logo of Darius Mathis. The logo's purpose to communicate how Darius is a professional team player and would be a great fit as part of any video/movie crew. His primary roles are director, cameraman and on set jack-of-all-trades. The simplicity of the logo and the gathering of the dots subtly suggest the ease and adaptability of Darius on a film/video production.
